The Bathing Establishment without a Pool permit is required to install, operate or construct a bathing establishment without a pool (a Steam Room, Sauna or Spray Ground) in New York City.<br/><br/>
The permit approval process is comprised of three parts:
- Part I: Application Review
- Part II: Construction Inspection
- Part III: Permit Review and Issuance
Approval of the permit will be granted when the pool is designed, constructed and completed in accordance with the New York City Health Code and The New York State Sanitary Code, linked below under Additional Information. Final approval of the permit may include other requirements determined as necessary by the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's (DOHMH) Office of Public Health Engineering.
